Spacious open-plan converted barn, sleeps up to eight
Stunning setting, gorgeous garden, fab furnishings
Les Trois Pêcheurs was originally a Charentaise farmhouse and has been extensively and sympathetically renovated. The main building overlooks the garden on three sides. The kitchen had large double doors, which open out onto a veranda – perfect for an enjoying your early morning petit déjeuner to the accompaniment of birdsong.. The house is situated a few minutes from the village of St Hilaire de Villefrance, located in the triangle of St Jean d’Angely, Saintes and Cognac in the Charente Maritime, one of the sunniest areas of France. It is south-facing with views over open farmland, and is a tranquil setting for a totally relaxing holiday.
A sweeping wooden staircase takes you up to the next floor with its oak beamed vaulted living area. Modern comfortable furnishings complement the floor to ceiling windows and exposed creamy Caen stonework. This is a great place to sit and chat or dine and watch TV/DVDs. Three lovely double bedrooms are also on this level. Large windows with shutters and pretty curtains allow brilliant views of either the formal parterre or the outer courtyard and fields beyond. All of these rooms feature sleigh beds and solid wood furniture. Large, light shower room/toilets are en suite. Up again to the loft where the whole floor is now an appealing cosy room for six large single beds. Another TV and DVD player and a further shower room and toilet complete this oak-beamed additional living space
